We deliver containers, offices and conversions throughout South Africa from our Rustenburg yard in North West, with partner yards in Cape Town and Durban for coastal orders. We also deliver to Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique on a quoted, delivered-at-place basis.
Delivery is priced per container and confirmed at checkout. All prices are quoted in South African rand and include 15% VAT.

3. Lead times
- In-stock containers: dispatch within 1-3 working days, delivered in 2-7 working days.
- Office and ablution fit-outs: 10-18 working days in the workshop, then delivery.
- Custom conversions and container homes: 16-25 working days, confirmed per project.
- Reefer commissioning adds 1-2 working days for testing and temperature mapping.
Lead times are calculated in working days and exclude weekends and public holidays. We confirm your delivery window by SMS and WhatsApp the day before, with a two-hour arrival estimate.
4. What happens after you pay
- You receive an order confirmation and VAT invoice by email.
- Our logistics team calls to confirm the delivery address and site access.
- Your container is inspected, photographed and, where relevant, built in our workshop.
- We book the truck (and crane where required) and send a delivery window.
- On arrival, our driver and a representative place and level the unit, then sign handover.
5. Site access requirements
Standard delivery uses a truck and trailer combination. To deliver safely we need:
- Approximately 18m of straight access to the placement point.
- At least 4.5m of vertical clearance, check overhead cables, branches and bridges.
- Firm, level ground capable of supporting a loaded truck and container.
- Gate and road widths of at least 3m.
- Space to turn the vehicle around, or the ability to reverse out.
- A representative on site to sign the delivery note.
If access is not suitable, we will contact you before dispatch to arrange an alternative. Our team is happy to review site photographs in advance at no cost.
6. Offloading, placement and cranes
Standard delivery includes offloading and basic positioning on accessible, level ground using the vehicle's hydraulic tipping system. Winching, rolling or lifting over walls, fences, foundations or into back gardens requires a mobile crane or telehandler, quoted as an add-on. Crane charges depend on capacity (typically 20 tons), site distance and access hours.
We do not position containers on public roads, on slopes greater than 5%, over property boundaries without permission, or on structures not designed for the load.
7. Collection
Collection from 19490 Boitekong Ext 8, Rustenburg, North West, 0308, South Africa is free and available Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00 and Saturdays 08:00-13:00 by appointment. Please bring a suitable vehicle or arrange a crane or flatbed; we can load from our yard with a forklift or reach stacker where available. Collection must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
8. Permits, approvals and the law
Placing a container permanently on a property may require municipal land-use and building-plan approval. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm the requirements of the relevant municipality, body corporate or estate before ordering. We can supply generic drawings and introduce you to town planning professionals, but we do not act as your agent and cannot guarantee approvals.
9. Risk, ownership and title
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, or on collection. Ownership and title pass only when the purchase price has been paid in full and received in cleared funds. Containers remain our property until then, and we may recover them at your cost if payment is reversed or dishonoured.
10. Delays and events outside our control
We are not liable for delays caused by severe weather, floods, road closures, power outages, civil unrest, labour action, port congestion, supplier delays or municipal restrictions. We will always notify you, provide a revised date and, where practical, offer a partial or full cancellation without penalty if a delay becomes unreasonable.
11. Damage in transit
Containers are heavy industrial goods and are inspected before dispatch. Please inspect the unit with the driver and note any visible damage on the delivery note with photographs. Report any issue to support@voltbox.co.za within 7 calendar days of delivery so we can assess and, where appropriate, collect and repair or replace the unit. See our Return & Refund Policy.
12. Cross-border deliveries
For exports we handle transport, documentation and border clearing and quote delivered pricing. Import duties, VAT at destination and destination handling are the buyer's responsibility. Cross-border lead times are typically 7-14 working days after payment clears.
